GHADA SHOUAA was Heptathlon World Champion in 1995, backed up by becoming Olympic Champion in 1996 – Syria’s FIRST EVER OLYMPIC GOLD!!!✨
A fantastic all-round athlete, Shouaa transitioned from Syria’s national basketball team to Track & Field with relative ease – her Personal Best of 6,942 points remains 10th on the All-Time List some 28 years later!!!👏
In the end, injury cut short Shouaa’s time at the top of the event, but not before she battled back to achieve World Bronze in 1999…💪
