EUNICE BARBER comes in as the Heptathlon no.8 ALL-TIME!!! 🙌🇸🇱🇫🇷⬇️

Barber was born in Sierra Leone and represented them until then competing for France in 1999 – she was a fantastic athlete, best highlighted by the fact that she was not only the Heptathlon World Champion during her career, but also the Long Jump World Champion too [Paris 2003]!!! 🙌

Barber’s Long Jump PB was a giant 7.05m and her Heptathlon PB of 6,889 still ranks her 12th on the All-Time Top List…💪

Despite being a four-time Olympian, it was the stage that sadly never saw the best of her…she found the Heptathlon after first being a 100m Hurdler and Long Jumper and by the time of the Sydney Olympics in 2000, she was at the peak of her powers…however, injuries prevented showing her best form at a time where she finished with the year’s best score from earlier in the season! Her rivalry with both Denise Lewis and Carolina Klüft in the late 90’s / early 2000’s remain the stuff of legend…✨
