Born in Algeria in 1898, Boughera El Ouafi is a true hero of immigration – his talent spotted whilst running for the French military…he subsequently represented France at his first Olympics in 1924, finishing 7th in the Marathon, before 4 years later cementing his legacy in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, taking Marathon Gold alongside his status as World no.1!!! 🥇🙌
